Mini Dental Implants (MDIs)

A small solution with a big impact

After more than 30 years in private practice, this is the one procedure that’s truly transformed our guests’ lives. If you’ve struggled with loose dentures or missing teeth, mini dental implants (MDIs) offer a breakthrough option—with life-changing results in just one visit.

Guests who haven’t been able to enjoy their favorite foods or smile with confidence for years can now have their dentures firmly secured in place the same day the implants are placed. These small but powerful implants—about the size of a toothpick—anchor your dentures comfortably, reliably, and affordably. With minimal healing time (often measured in hours, not months), MDIs are a game-changer. Best of all? They cost less than half of traditional implant systems.

Mini dental implants: Replace missing teeth with confidence

Significant advantages and benefits of the MDI system include:

  • Minimal postoperative discomfort

  • Immediate use to secure loose dentures or replace single/multiple missing teeth

  • No waiting period for healing

  • Placement completed in just one brief office visit

  • Upper denture palate can often be removed for comfort

  • Helps preserve remaining jawbone

  • Can be placed even where minimal jawbone remains

  • Less than half the cost of traditional implant systems

  • Guests can eat and smile with confidence the same day

Mini dental implants truly are a “small wonder.”

When are dental implants used?

Dental implants are often the preferred treatment for:

  • Replacing a single missing tooth

  • Replacing multiple missing teeth

  • Securely retaining full dentures

What are implants made of?

All dental implants—mini or traditional—are made from grade 5 titanium. Implants under 3.0 mm in diameter are considered mini implants; anything above that is classified as traditional. Minis were specifically developed for areas with limited bone width but sufficient height.

Why we use mini dental implants

In many cases, bone loss in the jaw happens more from the sides than from the top down—making mini implants an ideal solution. Their smaller size allows us to place them in areas where traditional implants can’t fit, without the need for bone grafting or additional surgeries.

We use mini implants exclusively for securing dentures. They’re placed directly through the tissue without incisions or stitches, and healing is fast. Minis are typically “loaded” or put to use immediately thanks to their screw-like design and strong stability.
